If the filter cap is stuck fast it may be due to limescale build up not a coin or clip. Nothing i can do loosens it and the plastic grip is breaking when i try to use metal tools for leverage. Let the machine dry out after running the cycle and then switch to a soap that has no perfumes or dyes in it also if you use liquid fabric softener stop and switch to something like bounce sheets for your dryer. Replace the debris filter cap tightly.

The solution then is to remove the pump from the machine and then detach the motor from the pump housing. Make sure the drain pump properller behind the debris filter is not blocked.
